How to Make Homemade Ice Cream

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Last week, I scored an old school electric ice cream maker at an estate sale for $3. Perfect timing to make it for labor day! Making ice cream is actually REALLY easy. Here's what you need:

-4 eggs

-5 cups milk

-4 1/2 tsp vanilla

-2 1/4 cup sugar

-4 cup heavy cream

1/2 tsp salt

*Beat eggs until stiff, add sugar gradually. Add remaining ingredients to the mixer. Fill the tub of the mixer with ice and rock salt. The rock salt freezes everything REALLY fast. Your ice cream maker will stop turning when it's done! If you don't have an ice cream maker, just put your big bowl of the mixed ingredients into the freezer until it's frozen!

Easy, right?

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Be sure to go look in the online shop! I'm suprised that some of the things are still there!

This looks like our ice cream recipe. :) We like to add freshly diced peaches as a topping. SO perfect!

Is it the whole egg or just the egg whites?
